May 2026: Cardigans & Coats and how to style them

HELLO LOVELY SMITTEN PEOPLE!

How's your May going so far? 

I do hope you're keeping well... and are drinking fabulous blackcurrant/lemon/honey/turmeric concoctions to ward off those dreaded colds and flu's. And maybe making the kitchen smell delicious with healthy, warming soups and self-saucing chocolatey pudding, yum! Even getting out for a brisk walk in the cool weather, so you know you're alive, and getting back home is SO nice!

We are doing ok in our new parallel universe in Melbourne, Carl has been unwell with pneumonia again - but is fighting back, he is so amazing, and mentally so strong. Hopefully he will be coming out of hospital in the next few weeks, fingers crossed- we will keep you updated.

Styling Cardigans ....

AS you know we LOVE cardigans at Smitten in autumn and winter, well, all year round really. They are a classic layering garment.

I mostly wear the Brooklyn Cardi or the Coatigan these days, and love wearing the Brooklyn as a top

Alice loves the Long Drape Cardi - often paired over jeans and a fitted top and boots.

Holly goes for the Coatigan; looks fab over the Jenna Dress, and also over straight jeans, Scoop or Rana Top, and sandshoes.

Lesley wears the Boyfriend Cardi - it is brilliant for her tall frame as it's an ideal length - often worn with Long Tube Skirt, Round Top and leggings.
