Men's Merino Wool Heavyweight (360g) Leggings

My partner and I are outdoor workers. We're out in all kinds of weather, but it's those howlingly horrid cold, wet days that had my partner in absolute misery. We tried regular thermals from an outdoor store, which helped, but weren't enough and quickly wore through the knees and general looked old. I then invested in the Smitten heavyweight 360g leggings and matching top, as well as the fleece leggings for choice. They're now 2yrs old and incredibly still look brand new. No pilling, no holes, not misshapen at all after daily use through winter & spring. Our job is very rough on clothes, even base layers, so I'm impressed. The price is certainly higher than I'm used to spending, but absolutely worth it. In the long run, actually far better value, and much better quality. Most importantly, there's no more grumbling! Next up, something for me 😁

I have these heavyweight leggings and the fleece leggings. The fleece are a little cozier, but I like that these are 100% wool. For leggings with no elastic (except waist) they hold their shape nicely and don’t get saggy.

The leggings and associated top are without doubt the most comfortable and effective thermals I have worn. I have worn various types over 40 years of fly fishing in the highlands of Tasmania, but also during 17 expeditions to the Antarctic. The Smitten thermals are much warmer, and better fitting than even a well-known, popular New Zealand brand. I wore the Smitten thermals over three days fishing in very cold winter conditions, frozen ground, ice around the lake, water 4°, air temperature dropping to zero at sunset. The thermals kept me very warm, including fingers and toes because body, arms and legs were appropriately warm. The thermals kept their shape and firm fit, no sagging, and felt like a second skin. I didn’t even notice I was wearing them.
